Offenders and Opposites is a tool that helps leaders turn everyday frustrations into shared cultural clarity. By identifying what “offends” them and then naming the opposite value, teams can uncover the behaviors, convictions, and characteristics they want to celebrate, protect, and multiply in their church culture.
How to use this with your team:
- Have everyone complete the worksheet individually
- Regroup and share responses as a team
- Look for repeated themes, strong reactions, and shared convictions
- Finally, ask: What do these opposites reveal about the kind of culture we want to build—and what behaviors should we celebrate or refuse to tolerate?
